Ogun Polish Begin Manhunt for Killers of 62-Years-Old Physically Challenged Man

The Ogun State Police Command has commenced investigation to apprehend the killers of 62-year-old Adetunji Ajayi at his residence in the Imasayi area of the state

The male physically challenged victim was said to have been machetted to death on July 4, 2023, by yet-to-be identified assailants who gained entrance into his abode

In a statement issued by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Omolola Adutola, she said that the unfortunate incident happened at about 3:00pm after family members of the deceased went about their various daily businesses.

According to the statement, family members of the deceased got back home at the close of work, only to meet him lifeless in the pool of his own blood. 

The Divisional Crime Officer (DCO) of Imasayi Division, who confirmed the ugly incident, however, observed that the killers made away with the victim's handset, adding that the body was evacuated to the General Hospital, Ilaro, and was certified dead by the doctor on duty.

Meanwhile, the corpse has been deposited at the General Hospital, Ilaro morgue for further examinations. 

The command's spokesperson revealed that, there has not been firm lead to the reason behind "this extreme viciousness, but, however, according to her, the state Commissioner of Police, on receipt of the dastardly, condemnable and senseless killing,  has assured the families that the cruel and blood-thirsty killers would not go scot-free.

She said: "The Ogun State Police Command Headquarters sympathizes with members of the families for their misfortune and painful loss, and further assures that investigations is at double quick time to unravel the crime".
